The Exile Files

Raging Against the Outrageous. Laughter and Insanity Abound.

Back from London

Posted by Exile on September 4, 2007

I have a fine set of blisters on my feet. The youngster (my eighty year old father in law) walked me round the whole of inner London. We saw it all, the Tower, Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s, Hyde park, all the bridges and even Sherlock Holmes. We stopped at about every other watering hole along the way and we ate in pubs. Picadilly by night, Leicester square by day, Trafalgar twice and Soho was “oh so….”!

All in all, a great time. I know my father in law will never forget it. Neither will I. He was a pleasure to travel with and I could not ask for a better companion. My poor recollection of English history had to suffice but we picked up a few local points along the way to supplement my failing memory.

The weekend went all too quickly, but was one of the most pleasant I have spent in a long time.

Next stop, Brussels.
